In this episode I briefly introduce the famous “Problem of Induction” and give two simple examples of how we can use the purely deductive “Reduction to Absurdity” technique to arrive at 100% logical certainty concerning not only mathematical truths, but even fundamental principles of physical science.Continue reading “CVS Meta – 2019-01-05 – Solving induction by reduction deduction”
I met Steve McRae on YouTube when I was looking for videos with Graham Oppy. Steve considers himself an agnostic, but he does not consider himself an atheist. We discuss science, philosophy, and religion. It was a lot of fun.Continue reading “Catholic vs. Other – 2018-12-22 – Steve McRae”

This is his story. Please visit turnkeough.com for more information, including links to his Journey Home episode, and more.Continue reading “Catholic vs. Catholic – 2018-12-22 – Paul Keough”
Dr. Fleming is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Western Sydney University, Australia. He describes himself as “Catholic among the secular, and secular among Catholics”. I spent most of our time picking his brain about philosophy. Good times.
I met Shaun through his younger brother Dylan Maxwell, whom I interviewed in 2016. Shaun is an affable family man. He earned both his Masters degree and his Ph.D in Philosophy, with an emphasis on the nature of consciousness. He is currently writing a book on the Freedom of the Will.
I met Zvi Leve through Facebook. He is a secular Jew. His interests relate to trying to understand how people interact with their built environment and the role of technology in shaping behaviour. For fun he likes arguing with libertarians. I enjoyed our lively chat.
Lucy is 17 years old. She is a hard determinist, which is one of the most rationally self-consistent forms of atheism. I really enjoyed our intense debate about the logical necessity of the uncaused first cause.
I met André Julien through the Montreal Raelian meetup. I attended a monthly gathering in Longueuil and then we did our interview in a noisy fast-food restaurant.
